We had a major snowstorm and ended up stranded at home for a couple days this weekend. Luckily we knew about it ahead of time so I had plenty of time to do groceries on Friday for the weekend. We tried to leave the house today but got stuck about 3 houses away. After digging out the car, we decided to head home.
So I finally found the goat’s milk I use to make yogurt in the big bags at the grocery store. This is awesome as it drops the price down from $3.29/liter to about $2.25/liter. That’s significant savings considering I’m making 2 liters a week! I’ll have to go a bit further to this store, but I will only be going once every two weeks or so. So I made some more yogurt this weekend, as well as a few dishes.
I made the Beef Korma again and this time used the crockpot. Ohh it was even better! Instead of simmering the meat for 40 minutes on the stovetop, I put it in the crockpot on low for about 7 hours. It was much more tender and had a lot more flavor. So delicious.
The next dinner I made again my artichokes and chicken. This is turning into quite a hit with everyone. Our guests over for dinner asked for the recipe and both my bf and brother fought for seconds. I was hoping there would be leftovers..
I have also started eating goat’s cheddar cheese lately. So I used some shredded cheese on my eggs and it was so good. Nice to have some new flavours in my life! (Note: I am doing SCD with eggs on a rotation basis, basically I only eat eggs once a week for allergy reasons. I’m trying to keep baked goods and meatballs egg-free since I have them more often.)
Will be cooking more this week (as always) and I’m really hoping to try new things. I fell like I’ve been making the same 3 recipes over and over.
